The #4-ranked men’s volleyball team began their CUNYAC schedule on Saturday afternoon by recording 3-0 sweeps of Medgar Evers and Lehman in the CUNYAC Multi-Match Day hosted by York College.

Against Lehman (3-4, 1-2 CUNYAC), the Bearcats (12-2, 2-0 CUNYAC) rolled to a 30-21, 30-13, 30-22 victory.

Ivan Andujar led the way with 41 assists, while Sequiel Sanchez (10 kills), Eryk Kowalski (nine kills) and Santos Rivera (eight kills) all had a successful match in attack.

Carlos DeLeon recorded a team-leading 10 digs on the defensive end to begin the conference schedule on a winning note.

In the second match against Medgar Evers (0-4 0-3 CUNYAC), the Bearcats recorded a sweep with scores of 30-6, 30-9, 30-16.

Andujar dished out 24 assists and Kowalski had a team-leading 15 kills. Pablo Oliveira had nine kills, while George Chave contributed six kills and four total digs.

The #4-ranked men’s volleyball team will return to action on Tuesday, February 9, with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC road match at the New York City College of Technology.
