The baseball team totaled 17 hits to defeat Hilbert College of Buffalo, 14-5, in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon in Cocoa, Florida.

Jason Valentin (5IP, 2ER) earned the pitching victory, while Richard Melendez batted 4-for-6 (two doubles, 1 RBI) to help the team record their third victory of the season.

The Bearcats broke open the game early with seven runs in the third inning to defeat the Hawks from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).

Thomas Daly also had a solid afternoon at the plate by batting 3-for-3 with four total RBI. John Avona had a triple in the game.

The baseball team will return to action on Thursday morning with a 9:00 am single non-conference game against Salibury University of Maryland.
