The #4-men’s volleyball team split their two matches on Saturday at the tri-match hosted by Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey.

In their opening match, the Bearcats swept Stevenson University (10-12 record, formerly Villa Julie) with the scores of 30-27, 30-19, 30-17.

Pablo Oliveira (.400, six service aces) and Eryk Kowalski (.530) recorded nine kills each, while Kirill Yagnetinskiy had eight kills with a strong hitting percentage of .636.

Ivan Andujar dished out 42 assists and totaled six digs. Ratmir Gorelik and Takeshi Kawahigshashi finished with six digs each.

In the second match, Ramapo (17-7 record) totaled 47 kills (.248) to stun the Bearcats (31 kills, .035) with the tough loss.

Santos Rivera led the Bearcats with 11 kills, while Oliveira finished with 10 kills and six total digs. Andujar had another solid all-around effort with 29 assists, eight digs and two kills.

Josh Castillo led Ramapo with 15 kills (.312) in the victory.

The men’s volleyball team will return to action on Tuesday night with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC Tournament quarterfinal home match against eight-seeded Medgar Evers College (3-20, 0-14 CUNYAC).
