The baseball team is alive in the double elimination format of the 2010 CUNYAC Baseball Championships after defeating CCNY (8-5) and John Jay (8-2) on Friday at MCU Park in Brooklyn.

The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, May 1, with a 1:00 pm game six against tournament unbeaten Staten Island. The Bearcats must defeat Staten Island twice or one Baruch loss will give Staten Island the CUNYAC Championship.

The tournament is based on a double-elimination format. Teams are eliminated once they suffer their second loss.

Despite suffering a tough loss on Thursday, the Bearcats bounced back today behind complete game pitching victories from Ryan McGuire and Kellin Bliss. They scored early in both games to eliminate CCNY and John Jay from the tournament.
