2010 Men's Volleyball Team in action.

#2 Springfield Defeats #5 Bearcats (30-27, 30-23, 30-25)

The #5-ranked men’s volleyball team lost in three sets (30-27, 30-23, 30-25) to #2-ranked Springfield College Pride on Wednesday night in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Sequiel Sanchez led the visiting Bearcats with 14 kills and 17 digs, while Pablo Oliveira finished with 13 kills and one service ace.

Ivan Andujar totaled 38 assists, four kills, and two block assists. Carlos DeLeon (10 digs), Ratmir Gorelik (seven kills, eight digs), and Eryk Kowalski (five blocks) also contributed to the overall team effort.

The visiting Bearcats totaled three more kills (51-48) in the match, but the Pride had the stronger hitting percentage with .279 compared to .174.

Cal Palumbo led Springfield with 12 kills and Eric Shoemaker dished out 44 assists in the home victory.

The men’s volleyball team will return to action on Friday, April 9, with a 2:00 pm North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) quarterfinal round tournament match against Nazareth College in Barnstable, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
