CUNYAC Baseball Tournament, Day 3: Bearcats Fall in Game 7 to Staten Island, 14-8

The baseball team lost 14-8 to the College of Staten Island in game seven of the CUNYAC Tournament Championship on Saturday at MCU Park in Brooklyn.

Staten Island (30-10) captures their 14th baseball championship, while the Bearcats (14-22) finish in second place.

The Bearcats scored five runs in the ninth inning of game six to defeat the Dolphins of Staten Island, 10-8, to force the seventh and deciding game of the double-elimination tournament.

The Dolphins rebounded in game seven and jumped out to an 11-3 advantage by scoring five runs in the first inning and six more in the second inning to win the championship. For more detailed information and play-by-play, click the box score links at the top of this page.

Despite the tournament finishing, the Bearcats will still continue to play baseball with a non-conference 3:30 pm road doubleheader against Yeshiva University on Tuesday, May 4, at Bronx Community College baseball field. In between games, each team will honor their seniors on Senior Day.

Game 6, 1:00 pm: #4 Baruch defeats #1 Staten Island, 10-8
