The men’s soccer team routed the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island, 7-1, in a CUNYAC match played on Sunday afternoon at the College of Staten Island soccer complex.

The visiting Bearcats took over the match in the second half with five goals scored to break up a competitive contest that featured a 2-1 halftime score.

Jonas Juozaitis notched a hat-trick by scoring the first goal of the match at 21:47, and then added two more at the times of 53:54 and 72:02 during the second half explosion.

Sean Dickenson (29:28), Igor Polisski (48:16), Marat Gubaydullin (penalty kick, 75:31), and Stefan Cocea (85:13) all scored a goal each to help the Bearcats improve to 3-3-1 overall and 1-1 in the CUNYAC standings. 

Michael Murphy had a solid afternoon in front of the goal with two saves.

Staten Island (0-7, 0-2 CUNYAC) scored their only goal at the time of 37:25 with Kenneth Zaw scoring during a counter attack off an assist from Dogan Altunsoy.

The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, September 22, with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC home match at the Met Oval against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.
