The men’s soccer team defeated the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College, 3-1, in a CUNYAC home match on Wednesday night at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

The Bearcats (4-3-1, 2-1 CUNYAC) dominated the opening 45 minutes of play with a 14-0 shot advantage through halftime.

Igor Polisski opened the scoring at 23:26 by heading home the first goal off a cross into the box from Andreas Hansson for the 1-0 lead.

In the second half, they quickly built on their advantage at 48:39 with Jason Lopez assisting from the corner kick spot. Lopez sent a low ball into the box that Valiantsin Kirykovich knocked into the corner of the goal for the 2-0 lead.

Brooklyn (2-3-1, 1-1 CUNYAC) was able to score at 74:30 with Mack Diller converting on a penalty kick attempt to cut the advantage to 2-1.

Polisski responded again 10 minutes later with his second goal of the evening. Brian Wright sent a throw in to Ibek Abdrahmanov, and he quickly sent a cross into the box that found Polisski to score his team-leading fourth goal of the regular season.

Overall, Baruch dominated with a 29-3 shot advantage to record their second consecutive victory in CUNYAC play.

The men’s soccer team will return to action on Saturday, September 25, with a CUNYAC road match at City Tech. Kick off at Floyd Bennett Field is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
