The women’s volleyball team stretched their win streak to seven with a 25-5, 25-9, 25-12 sweep of the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC home match played on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

With the result, the Bearcats improve to 17-8 overall and 6-1 in CUNYAC, while the visiting Cougars fall to 0-18 overall and 0-7 in CUNYAC.

The Bearcats pounded out 27 kills with a .328 hitting percentage to also raise their season record to 7-1 in home matches. Jessica Wu, who was named again earlier today as the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, led the attack with seven kills by hitting .778.

Megan Moody contributed six kills (.500) and Lauren Hayden had five kills (.364) in the victory.

Melinda Santiago dished out 12 assists and recorded a season-high three kills.

The women’s volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, October 20, with a non-conference road match against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy from the Landmark Conference. First serve in King’s Point, New York on Long Island is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
