Bearcats Honor Posey Wilson & Kate Rembas, Sweep Brooklyn For 9th Straight Win

The women’s volleyball team recorded their ninth consecutive sweep with a 3-0 CUNYAC victory over Brooklyn College on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

Prior to the match, the women’s volleyball team and Head Coach Allison Stack honored seniors
Posey Wilson and Kate Rembas in front of family and friends in the final regular season home match for each player.

The Bearcats (19-8, 7-1 CUNYAC) posted a 25-14, 25-9, 25-19 victory by hitting .338 with 35 total kills, compared to 19 kills (.000) by the visiting Bulldogs.


Jessica Wu, who was named again as the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, led the attack this evening with nine kills by hitting .692. Jacqueline Dugas (.667) and Lauren Hayden (.625) also had a solid hitting percentage with six kills each in the home victory.

Melinda Santiago dished out 21 assists and Wilson finished another big effort defensively with 14 digs.

The women’s volleyball team will conclude their regular season schedule this weekend in upstate Saratoga Springs, New York by competing at the Skidmore Invitational hosted by Skidmore College.

The visiting Bearcats will begin play on Friday by playing Union College of the Liberty League Conference at 6:00 pm, followed by New Paltz State from the SUNY Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) at 8:00 pm.
