Baseball Result: Drew 7, Baruch 3

The baseball team lost a 7-3 non-conference contest to the Rangers of Drew University on Thursday afternoon in Madison, New Jersey.

Drew (8-18-1) scored a run in their first at-bat, but the visiting Bearcats (9-14) tied the game in the third inning on a double steal that enabled
Pooti Ben Pradubsri to score from third base as Thomas Daly stole second.

Drew added another run in the third and blew the game wide open with four more in the fourth inning to lead 6-1. They added their seventh run in the seventh inning.

The visiting Bearcats scored twice in the ninth inning to keep the game interesting, but eventually fell by a score of 7-3.

They scored their first run of the ninth inning on an RBI ground out by
Manuel Guerrero to score Anthony Melendez and the second on another RBI ground out by Alvin Mata to score John Yuksekol.

Overall, Drew (one error) scored seven runs on eight hits with nine men left on base, while Baruch (one error) scored three runs on nine hits with eight men left on base.

The baseball team will return to action on Saturday, April 16, with a CUNYAC doubleheader at Lehman College in the Bronx. Please note that due to weather concerns this doubleheader is now scheduled to start at 12:00 pm, instead of 3:00 pm.
