Bearcats Sweep Centenary (25-12, 25-18, 25-15)

The women’s volleyball team swept the Cyclones of Centenary College in three sets in a non-conference match played on Tuesday night in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats swept with scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-15 to even their overall record at 3-3, while the Cyclones drop to 2-4 overall on the young season.

The Bearcats finished hitting .317, including beginning the match by hitting .450 to dominate in the opening set victory. Overall, Baruch totaled 36 kills compared to only 17 by Centenary.

Jessica Wu (Cerritos, California) led the team with nine kills (.600), 11 digs and four aces, while Lauren Hayden (Parker, Colorado) had eight kills (.412) in the attack. Rebecca Peralta (Bronx, NY) was also busy contributing seven kills and nine digs.

Megan Moody (Anderson, Texas) and Melinda Santiago (East Patchogue, NY) combined to dish out 26 assists this evening in the victory.

The women’s volleyball team will return to action on Saturday as they will host the CUNYAC Multi-Match with all eight conference teams playing at least two matches this weekend in the main and auxiliary gyms. Baruch will battle York (12:00 pm) and rival Hunter (2:00 pm) in their two matches of the day.
