2012 Women's Volleyball Senior Night

Bearcats Sweep NYU, Honor Lauren Hayden & Melinda Santiago on Senior Night

The women's volleyball team swept the Violets of New York University (25-21, 25-20, 25-22) in a non-conference home match played on Wednesday night in the ARC Arena.

Prior to the match, the team and Head Coach Allison Stack honored seniors
Lauren Hayden and Melinda Santiago for their outstanding four years of service to the growing volleyball program at Baruch College.

The Bearcats earned their 21st win of the season with four players totaling at least six kills led by Jessica Wu with 12 kills hitting .365 to go along with eight digs and three aces. Hayden, Baruch's all-time leader in kills, celebrated her senior night with eight kills hitting.444.


McKenzie Davidson had six kills and nine digs, while Santiago, Baruch's all-time assist leader, celebrated her senior night with 31 assists and 10 digs. Crystle Dela Cruz added seven digs.

Alexandria Mao led the visiting Violets (14-13) with 18 kills hitting .382.

The Bearcats will finish their regular season schedule this weekend by traveling to Saratoga Springs, New York to compete in the Skidmore Invitational. The team has matches on Friday night against Union (6:00 pm) and SUNY-New Paltz (8:00 pm).
