The women’s volleyball team stretched their win streak to nine after sweeping Lehman and John Jay College in the CUNYAC Multi-Match played on Monday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

With the result, the Bearcats raise their record to 19-6 overall and 7-0 in the CUNYAC. They also now own a 17 match win streak against CUNYAC opposition (regular season & tournament) that dates back to September of 2011.

Against Lehman (25-15, 25-11, 25-11), Jessica Wu was the leader again with 12 kills hitting a solid .632 to go along with six digs. McKenzie Davidson totaled eight kills and seven digs. Melinda Santiago dished out 18 assists.

Against John Jay (25-5, 25-18, 25-8), the Bearcats controlled the action from start to finish for a convincing victory. A total of 10 players notched at least two kills led by Sydney Parks with four kills hitting .667. Crystle Dela Cruz had 10 assists and three service aces. Eleni Efstathiadis, Ariel Edwards and Doris Lei recorded two kills each.

The women’s volleyball team will enjoy a break in the schedule and return to action on Tuesday, October 16, with a 7:00 pm non-conference home match against Kean University from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
