#14 Bearcats Lose in 5 Sets to #15 Kean, Bounce Back By Defeating Wentworth

The #14-ranked men’s volleyball team began the day by suffering a heart-breaking five set loss to #15-ranked Kean University in a matchup of the Springfield College Invitational on Friday afternoon in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Bearcats lost in five with competitive scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-17 to suffer the tough loss against the Cougars.

Steven Coniglio led the attack for the Bearcats with 14 kills hitting .565. Vincent Cruz also totaled 14 kills with five blocks. Danny Olson dished out 45 assists and totaled 14 digs. Christopher Kaimis also had a good match defensively with 12 digs.

In the second match of the day at Springfield, they stumbled early but came back to defeat Wentworth with scores of 18-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.

Coniglio and Cruz led the attack again with nine kills each.
Aviv Elias had a solid match defensively with nine digs as the Bearcats notched their 16th win of the regular season.

The Bearcats will return to action Saturday, March 24, by playing a pair of nationally-ranked opponents. They will begin with a 10:00 am match against #4-ranked Juniata, followed by a 12:30 pm match against #3-ranked Springfield.
