Bearcats Win 3rd Straight, Defeat FDU-Florham (9-5), Peralta Earns Win, Torres Three Hits

The baseball team defeated FDU-Florham, 9-5, in a non-conference road contest played on Tuesday afternoon in Madison, New Jersey.

Eric Peralta earned his second pitching victory (5IP, 6H, 3ER, 3K), while Jeffrey Mercedes pitched solid relief (4IP, 5H, 2ER, 5k) to help the Bearcats record their third straight win to raise their season record to 12-10.

The Bearcats led throughout, but needed six runs in the fourth inning to break open the contest against a solid program from the
Middle Atlantic Conference.

Justin Torres continued his clutch hitting by batting 3-for-5 with two singles, one double and one run scored. Thomas Daly, the CUNYAC and ECAC Player of the Week, batted 2-for-4, with two RBI. Yancy Taveras totaled three RBI and Alvin Mata contributed three stolen bases and two runs scored.
