WEEK 8 A.V.C.A. Division III Coaches Poll

The #8-ranked men’s volleyball team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College twice on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The two teams were initially scheduled to play their first match on February 9 at the CUNYAC Multi-Match, but it was postponed by snow. As a result, the postponed match was moved to this evening to play the two conference regular season matches between the two schools.

The Bearcats quickly led 2-0 following a pair of forfeits and won the third set (25-5) for the opening victory.

They won the second match 25-6, 25-3, 25-2 to improve to 8-0 in the CUNYAC.

Brady Ambro notched eight kills with a perfect hitting percentage (1.000). Yanni Malo contributed four kills (1.000), while George Chave and Joseph Curry had three kills each.

In other team news,
Scott Standring was named the CUNYAC Player of the Week for the first time. He was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week three times earlier this season.

The men’s volleyball team will continue their CUNYAC schedule on Thursday night with a 6:00 pm home contest in the ARC Arena against Brooklyn College.
