The baseball team stretched their winning streak to four games by sweeping a CUNYAC doubleheader from John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Sunday afternoon at the College of Staten Island baseball complex.

With the results, the Bearcats raise their season record to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in the CUNYAC.

Paul Perez pitched another outstanding effort with a complete game shutout of seven innings, four hits, three strikeouts and no walks.

The Bearcats did all their scoring in the sixth inning.

For the second time today and the third straight game, the team coached by Jose Torres received another solid complete game effort.

This time it was
Andrew Lizardi with seven innings, one earned run, eight hits, six strikeouts and no walks for 3-1 victory.

The Bearcats scored their first run in the third inning on an RBI single to left field by
Keith Ezersky to score Ulino.

They added two more runs in the fourth inning as Loprete hit a sacrifice fly to score
Nicholas Pomo-Roman and Yuksekol scored on a balk call for the easy walk to the plate.

John Jay scored a run in their final at-bat, but Lizardi shut them down from scoring any further runs to complete the conference doubleheader sweep.

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, March 26, with a 3:30 pm single non-conference contest at Farmingdale State.
