#8 Men's Volleyball Tie Team Record For Consecutive Wins (14), Sweep Lehman & Hunter

The #8-ranked men’s volleyball team tied their team record of 14 straight wins by winning their two matches on Saturday at the CUNYAC Multi-Match hosted by The City College of New York (CCNY) in Harlem.

The 14 straight wins ties the all-time team record set in 2011.

The Bearcats started by sweeping Lehman with scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-16.


Brian Coniglio led the way with 26 assists and two kills. Aviv Elias totaled six kills and five aces, while Yanni Malo had six kills and four blocks.

Steven Coniglio, Martin Joksimovik, Brian Monaghan and Chris Kaimis each hit .500 or better in the conference victory.

In the second match against rival Hunter College, the Bearcats swept 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.


Jack McKee led the attack with nine kills, seven digs and four blocks. Steven Coniglio was a force again with 10 kills, four aces and four blocks.

The Bearcats hit .480 for the match with Joksimovik finishing at .900 (9-0-10).
Scott Standring dished out 39 assists and notched four kills.

Kaimis hit 4-for-4 in the last set, which helped bring the team back from losing to winning the set for the conference victory.

The Bearcats will continue their conference schedule on Tuesday, April 2, with a pair of matches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice beginning at 6:00 pm. One of the matches is a make up from a postponed match on March 2.
