The #7-ranked men’s volleyball team swept the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC/Con Edison Championship Tournament quarterfinal match played on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats posted a 25-2, 25-8, 25-10 victory to advance to the semifinal round on Friday night at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bearcats will play Brooklyn at 6:00 pm.

Please note that all CUNYAC playoff matches at CCNY feature free admission. However, all fans are encouraged to register online in advance for tickets to be admitted into the gym.

The winner of the championship will earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament to be hosted by M.I.T. in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 26-28, 2013.

Yanni Malo led the attack this evening against Medgar Evers with seven kills hitting .600. Brian Monaghan had four kills in also hitting .600.

Brian Coniglio dished out 16 assists in the playoff victory.

Christopher Welsh led the Cougars with four kills and two digs.
