Women's Volleyball Lose Tough Matches to Pittsburgh-Bradford (3-0), Lebanon Valley (3-1)

The women's volleyball team lost their two matches today at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic in Cortland, New York.



The Red Dragon Classic hosted by SUNY Cortland is one of the top opening weekend events with as many as seven teams in the field that competed last November in the NCAA Tournament.



The Bearcats lost in three sets to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in the morning opener with hard fought scores of 19-25, 25-27, 24-26.




Rebecca Peralta led the attack again with nine kills and totaled five digs on the defensive end. Sydney Parks had eight kills, while Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 22 assists in the tough loss to an opponent from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (A.M.C.C.).



The Bearcats finished the weekend with a tough afternoon loss to Lebanon Valley from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) with scores of 23-25, 13-25, 25-20, 18-25.



Peralta finished with a team-high 11 kills and six digs. Parks contributed eight kills and
Amy Sung had six digs. Dela Cruz established another career-high with 30 assists.



The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, September 4, with a 7:00 pm home opener match against Montclair State University from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
