Women's Volleyball Stay Undefeated in CUNYAC, Sweep CCNY (25-18, 25-23, 25-16)

The women's volleyball team swept the Beavers from The City College of New York in a CUNYAC road contest played on Thursday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium in upper Manhattan.

The visiting Bearcats posted a 25-18, 25-23, 25-16 victory to improve to 7-6 overall and 5-0 in the CUNYAC.

They also increase their current season winning streak to five, while extending their overall CUNYAC winning streak (regular and postseason) to 24.

The Bearcats pounded out 42 kills hitting .356, while the Beavers struggled with 28 kills hitting .165.


McKenzie Davidson starred again in the conference victory with 12 kills hitting .391, while Michelle Stommes had 11 kills hitting a torrid .611.

Rebecca Peralta and Nicole Lockwood (five aces) finished with eight kills each hitting .438. Crystle Dela Cruz drove the attack again with 28 assists and four digs. Amy Sung was solid defensively in the back with 10 digs.

The Bearcats will quickly return to action on Friday, September 27 as they will host the Baruch Invitational in the ARC Arena.

The team has matches scheduled at 5:00 pm against Ramapo College, followed by Richard Stockton College at 7:00 pm.
