Baruch Invitational: Bearcats Defeat Ramapo in 4, Fall to Richard Stockton in 3

FULL WEEKEND SCHEDULE

The women's volleyball team split their two matches in the first day of their own Baruch Invitational on Friday in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats started by defeating Ramapo College from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in four sets. They dropped the first 25-23, but came back in convincing fashion with 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 scores to record the four-set victory.

Two players put up double-figures with
Rebecca Peralta totaling 18 kills and 10 digs, while McKenzie Davidson had 17 kills and 14 digs hitting .308.

Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 42 assists and Nicole Lockwood notched 14 digs to help the team through this match extend their winning streak to six in a row.

In the second match against Richard Stockton, the Bearcats dropped all three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-13, 25-15.

The Ospreys from the New Jersey Athletic Conference recorded 32 kills hitting .367 to end the Bearcats' six-match winning streak.

Davidson led the attack again with 12 kills and five digs. Lockwood collected 12 digs and Dela Cruz had another 22 assists in the tough loss.

The Bearcats will quickly resume action Saturday with an 11:00 am match against Endicott College, followed by a 3:00 pm match against Skidmore College.
