10/22/2014 10:46:00 PM

Box Score

The men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against the Beavers of CCNY on Wednesday night at Field #10 on Randall's Island.

The weather limited play with wind-swept rain producing tough conditions that the sport of soccer generally plays through.

The Bearcats best chance to score came late in regulation, but a shot by
Danny Goldberg hit the upper post. The Beavers had their best chance with a few minutes left in the second overtime, but a shot by Stephanos Hondrakis from inside the box went wide.

Overall, the Bearcats outshot the visiting Beavers, 14-6. The defense starred again in the victory with 100 clean minutes to increase their scoreless streak to 402 minutes without allowing a goal since York scored in the 88th minute on October 8.

Peter DiBona earned the shutout with one save.

The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, October 29, with a CUNYAC Championship Tournament quarterfinal round match against an opponent, location and time to be determined.
