Box Score

The women's volleyball team swept the Beavers of The City College of New York with scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 in a CUNYAC home match played on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

Prior to the match, Head Coach Carrie Thomas and the players honored seniors
Doris Lei, Catherine Cespedes, and Michelle Stommes for their years of hard work and contributions to the volleyball program.

The match was not easy and the Bearcats found themselves trailing 12-9 in the second set, but they scored nine of the next 10 points to jump ahead 18-13. That was enough to win the second set en route to the home sweep.
They totaled 42 kills hitting .238, while the visiting Beavers totaled 25 kills hitting .119.

Stommes celebrated Senior Night with 13 kills (.423) and five digs.
McKenzie Davidson had eight kills and Sydney Parks recorded six kills (.500) to lead the winning attack.

Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 28 assists and notched 3 aces, while Amy Sung had 12 digs.

Saye-Chantl Joseph and Leticia Marotti led the Beavers this evening with eight kills each.

The Bearcats will hit the road this weekend to the Atlantic City area to play a tri-match at Richard Stockton College in Stockton, New Jersey. They play NYU at 12:00 pm, followed by the hosts Stockton at 2:00 pm.
