Women's Volleyball Falls in CUNYAC Finals

The women's volleyball team lost in five sets (25-23, 22-25, 16-25, 25-18, 9-15) to the Hawks of Hunter College in the CUNYAC Championships match on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats finish the season with a 15-18 record and second place in the conference tournament.

Last year, the Bearcats won the championship at Hunter College in the fifth set, 15-9. This year, Hunter won at Baruch by the same fifth set score to further underscore the great rivalry between the two programs.

Rookie
Akilah Meulens led the Bearcats this evening with a career-high 15 kills, while McKenzie Davidson totaled 13 kills and 15 digs. Crystle Dela Cruz had 46 assists and a team-high 24 digs.

Both teams finished with 56 total kills each, but Hunter was more effective in the attack hitting .181 compared to .163 by the Bearcats.

The Bearcats swept the Lightning of Lehman College with semifinal scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-16 to advance to tonight's CUNYAC championship match.
