During the second half, the Ducks (3-4) managed to cut the score to 29-22 on a driving layup by Patrick Barron with 15:38 left, but
Chimaechi Ekekeugbor hit a three that started an 8-0 run for a 37-22 lead.

The Ducks did not threaten the rest of the game as the Bearcats controlled the action and led by as much as 23 points (58-35) before each team emptied their benches.

Raymond De La Cruz scored 10 of his game-high 16 points in the first half. He finished shooting 6-for-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. He also contributed five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal.

Ekekeugbor, who was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the third time on Monday and ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week for the first time on Tuesday, had another solid game with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Granville Gittens rounded out the double-figure scorers by narrowly missing a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Bearcats will next begin their conference schedule on Friday night with an 8:30 pm CUNYAC contest at Hunter College.
