The men's volleyball team went on to split their two matches on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats (15-6, 9-0 CUNYAC) started with a 3-0 sweep of CUNYAC foe CCNY by recording scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-17 to raise their record to 9-0 in conference play.

They controlled the action from the opening whistle by hitting .333 with 18 blocks.

Brian Coniglio (.500) and Aviv Elias (.308) each had nine kills, while Yanni Malo finished with seven kills and three blocks.

Steven Coniglio recorded six block assists and Brendan Murphy was busy in the back with a match-high eight digs en route to the home victory that also featured two performances between sets by the Baruch College Dance Team the "Baruchettes".

In the second match, the Bearcats fell to No. 2 ranked Springfield College Pride in three with scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-9.

The visiting Pride from Springfield, Massachusetts pounded out 41 total kills hitting .507 to record their 18th win of the regular season.

Jack McKee had the special highlight of the evening recording his 1,000th career kill in the first set. He led the Bearcats with 11 kills.

The career feat marks the second time this season that a player has reached 1,000 career kills. Steven Coniglio also reached the milestone, also against Springfield, back on March 1.

Chris Kaimis notched eight kills and Scott Standring dished out 23 assists in the disappointing loss.

The men's volleyball team will travel to the Midwest this weekend to compete at the Carthage Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Bearcats will start play on Saturday with matches against Ramapo (10:00 am) and host Carthage (2:00 pm).
