Bearcats Defeat Ramapo, Fall to No. 4 Carthage in Wisconsin

The men's volleyball team recorded a 1-1 record in the first day of the Carthage Invitational on Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Bearcats started play against Ramapo College and escaped with a hard-fought 25-20, 20-25, 18-25, 25-13, 18-16 five set victory.

Jack McKee (16 kills, 11 digs) and Chris Kaimis (14 kills, 17 digs) led the attack, while Scott Standring dished out 42 assists.

Man Wai Choi totaled 10 digs in a match up between New York/New Jersey schools in the Midwest.

In the second match, the Bearcats fell hard to the weekend hosts and No. 4 ranked Carthage College with scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

Carthage hit .405 and recorded 40 kills compared to 17 by the Bearcats.

McKee and Kaimis each had five kills. Standring recorded 14 assists.

The Bearcats will return to action Sunday morning at 9:00 am (Central Time) against No. 7 ranked Nazareth, followed by a 3:00 pm (Central Time) match against Thiel.
