Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The Bearcats split a CUNYAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York.

Lehman took the first game in eight innings, 7-6, but the Bearcats won the nightcap by the same score in regular seven innings of play.

In the opener,
John Yuksekol smashed a grand slam in the first inning for what appeared at the time a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Lehman rallied with three runs in the third inning and three more in the sixth for the 6-4 advantage through six innings of play. The Bearcats tied the game in their final at-bat to force extra innings thanks to a two run single by
Eric Ulino to plate Keith Ezersky and Yuksekol.

Lehman would score a run in the eighth inning and held the Bearcats scoreless in their next final at-bat for the victory.

In the second game, Lehman this time jumped out early to a early 4-0 lead, but the Bearcats slowly battled back.

Ezersky walked home a run with the bases loaded in the third inning. In the fourth, Ulino hit a solo homer and
Nicholas Pomo-Roman singled to plate Dan Daley to get as close as 5-3 through four innings.

Lehman increased their lead to 6-3 on a solo homer, but the Bearcats scored the final four runs.

Philip Loprete hit an RBI single in the sixth to score Pomo-Roman. The team then exploded for a walk-off win in their final at-bat.

Angel Tejeda smacked an RBI single, Daley walked home a run with the bases loaded, and Tejeda came around to score on a fielding error to round out the exciting win.

The Bearcats will continue their conference schedule on Tuesday, April 22, with a single game contest against associate baseball member the Stevens Institute of Technology. First pitch at MCU Park in Coney Island is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
