Open Tryouts Scheduled for August 18

The schedule for the women's volleyball season is available online.

The team will be seeking their fourth straight CUNYAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.

Carrie Thomas, who was named the Head Coach on March 17, will lead an experienced roster against a challenging schedule.

The Bearcats will travel to three invitationals hosted by DeSales University, Muhlenberg College and SUNY-Oneonta. They will also hit the road for tri-matches hosted by Richard Stockton and Haverford Colleges.

The team will host their first home match on September 17 against Rutgers-Newark and September 18 versus CUNYAC foe York College.

The always highly-anticipated match against rival Hunter College will be on a neutral court on Columbus Day, Monday, October 13, at the multi-match hosted by the College of Staten Island.

"I'm very excited to soon get the 2014 Bearcats Volleyball season underway.  I was fortunate to see these girls play together in the non-traditional season," said Thomas. "They worked hard for me and we all just "clicked" right away.  It's going to be a very exciting season with much success.  I really like to push my teams to their fullest potential and beyond, and instill that killer instinct.  I think this squad has what it takes to carry on the winning traditions of Baruch and advance even further.  I expect the very best each and every day and I already see the heart and desire in each of them. With these two components, the desire to win and the love of the game, we will have an unforgettable season."

For the first time since 2007, the Bearcats will host the CUNYAC Championship on campus in the ARC Arena.

Admission to Baruch athletic home events is free of charge.
