Box Score

The men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the College of Staten Island in their CUNYAC opener on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, New York.

The loss snaps the team's 25 match unbeaten CUNYAC streak (22 wins, 3 draws) that dates back to the 2011 regular season (10/15/11 vs Medgar Evers 4-2 loss).

The Dolphins out-shot the Bearcats, 18-9, and scored a goal in each half for the home win.

Alfonso Castenda scored the first in the 30th minute by one-timing a cross past the out-stretched arms of the goalkeeper. Nicholas Bacarella scored the second in the 60th minute off another cross.

William Rosales and Urim Bibovic led the Bearcats with two shot attempts each in the loss.

The men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday, September 24 with a 5:00 pm CUNYAC road contest at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York.
