The women's basketball team stayed undefeated in conference play following a 70-56 road victory at Lehman College on Wednesday night in the Bronx.

The Bearcats used strong defense to limit the hosts to 30 percent shooting (19-for-63), which included 3-of-14 from 3-point range.

With the exception of an early 6-5 lead by the Lightning, the visiting Bearcats (10-4, 7-0 CUNYAC) led the entire game en route to winning their sixth straight.

Sheridan Taylor recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Francess Henry (nine rebounds) and Veronica Ganzi (6-9 fg) finished with 16 points each.

Iyana Abrams had another all-around effort with 12 points, four assists and three steals.

The Lightning shot only 25 percent (8-for-31) in the second half to fall to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in conference. Karrin Walker led their team with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The women's basketball team will resume action on Friday, January 14, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC home contest against CCNY.
