Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Defeats NYU (3-2), Carrillo Notches Seven Saves

Three different players scored a goal and Xavier Carrillo recorded seven saves to lead the men's soccer team to a 3-2 road win against the Violets of New York University on Monday night at Manhattan College's Gaelic Park in Riverdale, New York.

The visiting Bearcats out-shot the Violets, 23-8, and overcame an early goal by NYU for the non-conference victory.

Edward Humphreys scored his seventh goal of the season to tie the game at one in the 17th minute. Stanley Goldberg sent a through ball inside the box that found Humphreys to beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Diego Alvarado scored to make it 2-1 in the 24th minute. William Rosales earned the assist as he set up Alvarado on the left side of the box for the score.

NYU tied the contest in the 29th minute and it stayed that way until the 77th minute. Oshae Miller scored the game-winner, the rookie's 11th of the season, by taking a long pass from Alexander Marano and lofting a high shot to beat the defense for the winning goal.

The men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference contest against Berkeley College (NY). Kick off at Randall's Island Field #50 is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
