Men's Volleyball Defeats Vassar, Falls to #2 Stevens, Rutgers-Newark in Weekend Action

The men's volleyball team recorded a 1-2 record this weekend to conclude a busy week of play.

They started by defeating Vassar College on Friday night in three sets with scores of 28-26, 25-22, 25-21 behind 10 kills and 11 digs from
Brady Ambro. Brian Coniglio had 18 assists in the home sweep.

On Saturday, the team suffered a pair of losses at the tri-match hosted by Rutgers-Newark in Newark, New Jersey.

They lost to No. 2 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology with scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-15.
Chris Kaimis led the Bearcats with eight kills and 10 digs. Scott Standring dished out 15 assists in the loss at the Golden Dome.

They finished weekend play by playing former Division I and now reclassified Division III the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark. They lost in four sets 22-25, 25-23, 13-25, 21-25.


Nick Smith led the attack with 13 kills, while Ambro finished with 12 kills. Yanni Malo had 10 kills and a season-high seven blocks.

The No. 10-ranked Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, March 7, at the CUNYAC multi-match hosted by York College. They play CCNY at 9:00 am, followed by Lehman at 1:00 pm.
