Full House Watches Bearcats Defeat Rival Hunter, Team Wins CUNYAC Regular Season Title

The No. 10 ranked men's volleyball team swept the Hawks of Hunter College in a packed ARC Arena on Tuesday night.

The Bearcats won with scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 to take over first place and clinch the CUNYAC Regular Season Championship.

The Bearcats and Hawks both finished the CUNYAC regular season schedule with 15-1 records, but the Bearcats won the tie-breaker by winning five sets to three in the two combined regular season head-to-head match ups.

They will also be the number one seed when the CUNYAC Championship Tournament gets underway on Tuesday, April 7. The entire schedule will be announced later this week.


Brady Ambro and Yanni Malo (.455) led the attack this evening with 10 kills each. Brendan Murphy collected 11 digs and Brian Coniglio dished out 27 assists to help the team improve to 19-6 overall.

Braden Carter, who was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, totaled five kills (.444) and two block solos in the big win.

Steven Tarquinio led the visiting Hawks (20-12, 15-1 CUNYAC) with eight kills.

Prior to the start of the match, the volleyball program and Head Coach Danial Levent honored seniors
Nick Smith, Chris Kaimis, Yanni Malo and Bryan Fong for their outstanding service.

The Bearcats will hit the road tomorrow night for a 7:00 pm match at No. 3 SUNY-New Paltz in New Paltz, New York. This match will feature live stats and video.
