Bearcats Falls to Old Westbury

The softball team lost a non-conference doubleheader to the SUNY College at Old Westbury on a chilly Tuesday afternoon on Long Island.

The visiting Bearcats started in the best way possible with Nicole Bellini smashing her and the team's first homer of the season in the first inning with a two-run shot to left field that scored Jessica Piccolino.

The host Panthers slowly came back and took the lead in the fourth inning en route to the 6-2 win.

The Bearcats finished the opener with four total hits with Piccolino and Olivia Dellston recording two hits each. Christina Chin had a double in the fourth inning.

In the second game, the Bearcats were limited to a Kaitlyn Vichas single in the fourth inning. The Panthers' Amanda Fucci struck out seven in their home win.  
 
The Bearcats will restart their CUNYAC schedule on Thursday, April 7, with a 3 p.m. home doubleheader against the Hawks of Hunter College at Randall's Island Softball Field #12.
