Men's Soccer Falls in Season Opener to NJCU (2-0)

The men's soccer team lost 2-0 to the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University on Thursday evening at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats outshot their visitors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), 10-4, but were unable to find the back of the net.

NJCU scored two goals on four total shots. They scored their first in the 22nd minute on a header by Davauni Brown and added the second in the 67th on an unassisted strike by Omar Ventura to complete the shutout.

The Bearcats had several opportunities to score in the second half but could not find a hole in the defense. Oshae Miller led the team this evening with two shots.

The men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, September 10, as they will travel to Utica, New York to compete in the Utica College Tournament. They will open play against Skidmore College with kickoff slated for 4:30 p.m.
