Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

CUNYAC: Bearcats 58, York 30

The women's basketball team defeated the Cardinals of York College, 58-30, in a CUNYAC home contest on Wednesday night in the ARC Arena.

With the exception of an opening-game three by York, the Bearcats led throughout the game and limited the visiting Cardinals to 30 points.

Veronica Ganzi paced the Bearcats with a double-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Shannon Barrett (10 points, 6 rebounds) and Kristen Podlovits (10 points, nine assists, four blocks, two steals) also reached double-figures. Jaclyn Thammakhoune tied a career-high with six points off the bench.

Mayan Charles collected 17 rebounds and Sheahna Roscher had 10 points/eight rebounds for the Cardinals.

The Bearcats will quickly return to action on Thursday afternoon with a 12 p.m. matinee contest at the Rams of Farmingdale State College.
