Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Bearcats Compete at Hunter Tri-Match

The men's volleyball team competed in a tri-match on Saturday at Hunter College.

The Bearcats played a very competitive four sets in a non-conference contest against rival Hunter, but fell with scores of 17-25, 25-21, 21-25, 24-26.

Stephen Roach led the attack with 11 kills/14 digs, while Nicholas Godino had 10 kills/15 digs and Samuel Rabidoux nine kills.

Brendan Murphy had a solid match with 27 assists and 19 digs to go along with five kills.    

The Hawks totaled 55 kills, compared to 42 by the visiting Bearcats. Nicolas Sanchez posted 44 assists to lead the Hawks.

In the second match, the Bearcats again put up a strong match, but fell in four with scores of 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 21-25.

Daniil Bronshteyn led the attack in the second match with 12 kills. Murphy dished out 28 assists and 12 digs. Kyriakos Semertzidis totaled 15 digs.

The Bearcats will return for their home opener on Friday, January 27, with a 6 p.m. contest against No. 1 ranked Pride of Springfield College.
