The men's volleyball team lost a tough four-setter (24-26, 29-27, 21-25, 21-25) to the Knights of Southern Virginia University on Friday night in the ARC Arena.
Prior to the match, the Bearcats honored seniors Brendan Murphy and Ryan Pape in front of family, friends and teammates for their service to the men's volleyball program.
The Bearcats totaled 42 kills compared to 32 by the Knights during the match, but the visitors still earned the win in a highly-competitive match.
Stephen Roach led the Bearcats with 15 kills and nine digs, while Nicholas Godino had 14 kills and 12 digs. Murphy dished out 28 assists and Kyriakos Semertzidis collected 13 digs.
Paul Clark led the Knights with 16 kills and six blocks.
The Bearcats will next turn their attention to the CUNYAC Tournament on Thursday, April 13, at Hunter College. The team will open play in the championship rounds with a 4:00 pm semifinal against the quarterfinal winner between Lehman College and the College of Staten Island.
The Bearcats earned a quarterfinal round bye after finishing in the top two places of the CUNYAC standings. For a complete schedule, please read below.
