Softball Defeats Brooklyn in CUNYAC Doubleheader, Bearcats 7-3 Overall

The softball team returned to action today by sweeping a CUNYAC doubleheader from the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.

The games were the first for the team since a March 23 doubleheader against the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The team's spring schedule has been devastated by weather-related issues that have forced the postponements of seven doubleheaders.

The team today recorded 15-0 and 22-1 victories to begin their conference schedule on a positive note.

In the first game, three different players recorded three hits. Christina Chin totaled four RBI and smacked a lead-off homer.

In the second game, four different players scored at least three runs. Nicole Bellini and Olivia Dellston each had four RBI.  

The Bearcats will continue their home schedule tomorrow, Sunday, April 9, with a 1:30 p.m. CUNYAC home doubleheader against York College at Randall's Island Field #12.

Prior to the game, the team will honor seniors Kristen Podlovits, Christina Chin and Juliann Gross for their years of service.
