Bearcats Draw 2-2 at Kean

The men's soccer team never trailed and out-shot the Cougars 20-12 to help clinch a 2-2 draw on Monday night in Union, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats set the tone early against Kean University with Javier Arellano Crespo scoring 46 seconds into the match on a free kick sent into the box by Alexey Arefev.

Kean tied it in the 10th minute with Felipe Lucas scoring his eighth goal of the season by curling a free kick over the Bearcats' defensive wall.

The Bearcats responded to jump ahead again in the 25th minute with Juan Heeren taking a pass from Cormac Foley and re-directing the ball past the out-stretched goalkeeper.

Kean tied it in the second half with Ramesses Moore-Guiness scoring in the 58th minute.

The two teams battled the rest of regulation and overtime, but the match ended 2-2 in a non-conference regional battle of CUNYAC versus New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) teams.

Kellen Sela finished with six saves to help preserve the draw.
