Bearcats Finish 2-2 at Johnson & Wales Invitational

The men's volleyball team went 1-1 on Saturday at the Johnson & Wales Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island. 

The Bearcats lost in five sets (24-26, 25-18, 21-25, 25-18, 12-15) to the No. 14-ranked Banana Slugs from the University of California, Santa Cruz, but bounced back to defeat the Wolves from Keuka College to finish 2-2 at the weekend competition. 

The Bearcats and Banana Slugs were tied at 12 in the fifth set tiebreaker but the Banana Slugs scored the last three points for the 15-12 win.

Artem Zinkin (16 kills, 11 digs) and Meni Musheyev (14 kills, .500) led the attack, while Steven Lopez contributed 13 kills and Edward Grinberg dished out a season-high 51 assists.   

The Bearcats ended the tournament by defeating Keuka with scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-13, 25-21 to record their second win of the season.  

Justin Iloulian had a career-high 12 kills and Musheyev added 11 hitting .500 again. Grinberg had 29 assists, while Defeng Han totaled 12 digs and Hanbin Lee 11 in the neutral site win.
