Men's Soccer Wins in Double OT

The men's soccer team won 1-0 in double overtime on Wednesday night at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats and the Cougars of Medgar Evers College battled all night, but in the end a sudden death goal by Jemali Zarnadze in the 103rd minute decided the match.

The Bearcats out-shot the Cougars 28-6, including 8-0 in the overtime, but had a difficult time finding the back of the net.

Zarnadze finally broke through the defense and slotted a low shot past the out-stretched goalkeeper for the winner that sent the Baruch bench into celebration. Elijah Smarr earned the assist and started the play that put Zarnadze into position for the winner.

Cormac Foley had eight shots and Luis Munoz added four.

C-Henry Obeissant was busy in front of the goal for the visiting Cougars finishing with eight saves.

Tonight's contest was the first CUNYAC match of the season for both teams.
