Men's Soccer Defeats John Jay in CUNYAC Action

The men's soccer team fell behind in the first half 1-0, but scored three times in the second half, all unassisted, to record a 3-1 victory against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island.

The visiting Bearcats out-shot the Bloodhounds, 16-11, and received second half goals from Julio Ramirez (52:04), Jemali Zarnadze (65:54) and Cormac Foley (88:20) to continue the CUNYAC portion of the regular season schedule in winning fashion.

Zarnadze continues his great form and scored the second goal during a scrum in the box, which would stand as the winner. He scored the sudden death double overtime goal in the last match for the winner against Medgar Evers.

Ramirez scored the first goal off a deflection. Foley (four total shots today) was a solo effort that made it 3-1 and that stood as the final.

Kellen Sela recorded four saves in front of the net.

Mergim Mehmeti lead the Bloodounds in the loss with three shots.

The Bearcats will hit the road again on Monday night with a match at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.
