Men's Basketball Defeats FDU-Florham in Low Scoring Contest

The men's basketball team shot 7-of-17 from three and used solid defense to limit FDU-Florham to shooting only 29.8% to record a 52-44 victory on Friday night in Madison, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats only trailed twice in the contest (14-13, 29-27) and broke away from Florham with an 9-0 run midway through the second half to push the score from 39-38 to 48-38 with 4:47 left. That game-busting run proved to be the difference as the Bearcats held on for the low-scoring 52-44 victory.

Sayeed Osorio was tops for the Bearcats with 12 points, followed by Mohamed Gueye with 10.

Emil Purisic grabbed eight rebounds to help the Bearcats win their third straight contest.

FDU-Florham only shot 17-of-57 overall, including 6-of-29 in the second half. Matthew Johnson led the home team with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bearcats will resume action in New Jersey again tomorrow with a 4:00 p.m. contest at Drew University, which is also in Madison, New Jersey.
