Men's Basketball Lose in OT to Stevens

The men's basketball team lost 85-82 in overtime to the Ducks from the Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats led for large swaths of the non-conference contest, including 52-22 with 12:58 left, but the visiting Ducks scored 50 of their 72 total points of regulation in the final 12 minutes to rally to force overtime.

The Ducks connected on nine total 3-pointers in those final 12 minutes and hit three more in the overtime for their first win of the season.

The Bearcats shot 47 percent in the first half and received 30 points from their bench, but it was not enough to avert the tough home loss.

Mohamed Gueye led four Bearcats in double-figure scoring with 15 points. Jehmehl Fair and Emil Purisic had 14 each, while Michael Gannon scored 12.

Matt Leming came of the bench to score 23 points for the visitors from Hoboken, New Jersey.
