Bearcats Fall at John Jay, Final 6 Minutes Decided Contest

The women's basketball team lost 79-61 to John Jay College in a CUNYAC contest on Saturday afternoon.

The contest was tied after three periods (52-52), but John Jay out-scored the visiting Bearcats 27-9 in the final period, including 21-5 over the last six minutes, to clinch the home victory.

The Bearcats attempted 16 more shots and hit four more 3-pointers, but could not overcome the final six minutes and the 55-32 rebounding disadvantage.  

Mia Castillo, fresh off a career-high 35 points on Wednesday at Lehman, poured in 25 more points today with five steals and five assists.

Elissa Leung knocked down 12 points and dished out six assists, while Paige Traynor scored nine.

D'Andre McRae recorded her tenth double-figure rebounding game this season finishing with 11 rebounds.

The Bloodounds had four players in double-figures with Bobbi Green and Kamryn Hammond scoring 16 points each.
