Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls in Regular Season Finale, CUNYAC Playoffs Start Next Week

The men's soccer team lost 2-1 to the Lightning of Lehman College in the regular-season finale played on Wednesday afternoon at the Columbia University Soccer Complex.

The two teams played a competitive match that was nearly even in many statistical categories, but the visiting Lightning broke open a 1-1 tie early in the second half to hold on to the victory.

The host Bearcats scored their only goal right at the beginning of the second half with Andrew Kinal knocking in a goal off Julio Ramirez's fifth assist of the season.

Lehman striker Phillip Osei had a brace (two goals) scoring his first goal at 39:40 and his second three minutes after the Bearcat goal at 49:39 for the victory on an overcast afternoon.

The Bearcats won the shots with an 18-16 advantage and each team's goalkeeper recorded six saves.

The Bearcats will now wait for the remaining CUNYAC matches across the conference to be played to help decide the final seeding for the CUNYAC Championships that gets underway next week. More details will be provided upon the completion of the schedule.
